Daylesford is a great alternative to going to the beach on a warm day.  The region has an olympic size swimming pool, two lakes full to the brim with boat hire available, and nearly all accommodation is air-conditioned.  Try a Daylesford restaurant or sip on a crisp wine under a shady verandah.  Don't forget the Day Spas, the better ones are fully air-conditioned as well, so you can still enjoy a massage and hot spa.   Beat the crowds and the heat and head to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs.

The Daylesford Sunday Market operates each Sunday from 8.00 am to 3.00 or 4.00pm at Daylesford Station (rain, hail, shine or snow). A wide variety of stalls selling everything from books to spare parts for the car, fresh local produce, clothing and collectables are located at the market. Howe StDaylesfordPhone 03 53483503

Daylesford Farmers Market
This is very different to the Daylesford Sunday Market.  To start with there is abundant parking at Victoria Park very close to the gateway.  It is also a very scenic location surrounded by huge gums and shade trees, some of them heritage listed - and there is no junk.  You go there to buy produce.

Daylesford Spa Country Railway
The DSCR is a railway museum specalising in railmotors and trolleys of the Victorian Railways. Fully restored diesel railmotors are operated over a scenic 9 kilometre section of the former Carlsruhe to Daylesford branch line in Victoria, Australia. Lake Daylesford
The Daylesford Lake is man made having been originally gold diggings followed by extensive Chinese Market Gardens with their own village, Joss House and store. In 1883 it was discussed to turn the area into a lake and construction finally began in 1927.

Lake Jubilee
This is an amazing place for a carvan park. At Lake Daylesford you can pay hundreds od dollars a night for accommodation with views of the lake but here you pay so little for the magnificent view. The lake offers canoe hire, has a milkbar for essentials, playground for the kids, and hiking that goes for kilometres.

Sailors Falls
Sailors Falls is just before Daylesford on the Ballan - Daylesford Road.  A beautiful location that offers a steep walk down to the creek below.  To view it best go during the wetter seasons or there will be no water flowing down.

Tuki Trout Farm

Daylesford is a little over an hour from Victoria's capital in the Central Highlands.  The region is known as spa country as over 70% of Victoria's mineral water comes from this area.  Daylesford is a haven for massage, spa and indulgence.  Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are reputed to have more massage and beauty therapists in one location than anywhere else in Australia.

Attraction, Shop and Gallery for horse riding, surfing, beaches, parks, playgrounds, local attractions, theatres and movies.  Shop till you drop for clothing, jewelry, new age, chocolates and specialty products.  Take in a gallery for art, antiques or furniture.  Or why not try a day spa, beauty salon or have a pampering massage.
